I had seen the previews for HUGO and was incredibly curious about the movie. I sat down one afternoon when Lili was in school and the other girls were napping. It was quite nice actually to sit and do…NOTHING. Yes, I know, be jealous. 🙂 Anyways, back to the point. I wasn’t sure that this would be a movie the kids could watch, so off I went myself.
Welcome to a magical world of spectacular adventure! When wily and resourceful Hugo discovers a secret left by his father, he unlocks a mystery and embarks on a quest that will transform those around him and lead to a safe and loving place he can call home. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese invites you to experience a thrilling journey that critics are calling “the stuff dreams are made of.” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone).
I had a chance to preview HUGO before it hit home to DVD. It was beautiful, magical….just a great movie. I am glad that I didn’t watch this with my 5 year old, because I know there would have been MANY questions. However, for the older kids (tweens?), I think this will be a delightful pick for them.On the bottom of the DVD cover, it states “A Masterpiece.” I concur.
One additional thing I learned, this movie was based on a book. The Invention of Hugo Cabret. I had no idea.
HUGO:: $16.99
