I was given the 8 oz. 5 phases hybrid glass bottle to review for this post. I have never used glass before. I’m hoping that we have readers that are considering using glass bottles or already do. The 5 phases hybrid bottle provides all the benefits of glass with the protection of a BPA free plastic sleeve. Let’s take a moment to talk about that blessed sleeve. I am a huge klutz. Before I even got a chance to use the bottle, my elbow bumped it off the counter where it plummeted to the tile floor. I gasped! I would not suggest you try it on purpose, but the bottle survived the first crash like a champ and it was still good as new.
While I don’t personally use glass bottles exclusively, I can still review the high points of this bottle and appreciate the benefits it has to offer. For a glass bottle, it is lightweight. It’s a stylish design and my son drinks well from it. I really like the nipple that was included with it, the ventilation system is great. The cap stays on well in the diaper bag too. Oh how I loath leaky bottles in the diaper bag. It is very easy to take apart for washing as well. The only drawback from my perspective was that it is a squeeze to get 8 oz of water and the formula in this bottle to mix. However, if you mix it in a different container or if you aren’t using formula, it’s a wonderful glass bottle.
I’m no expert on the benefits of using glass bottles, but HERE is a great place to start reading about it. It’s very personal to the founder and creator of this bottle. Her passion for this product is very evident as she desires to share what she has learned having a child of her own that benefited from the safety of using a glass bottle. Read her inspiring story HERE.
Let me share a few more plugs for this bottle system:
