easy giant bubble recipe :: a simple DIY

About a year ago I had some cousins visiting from out of state and my cousin’s wife had the BEST bubble mix we had ever used! Not only was it possible to make constant bubbles with this mix, the bubbles were able to be gigantic! Plus making your own bubble mix is inexpensive, easy, and a great way to never run out when the kids want to spend some time occupied blowing bubbles.

easy giant bubble recipe from the simple moms

Supplies ::

  • 1/2 cup blue Dawn liquid dish soap
  • 2 Tbsp light corn syrup
  • warm water
  • 1/2 gallon container or glass jar with resealable lid

Instructions ::

  1. Fill the glass jar or container most of the way with very warm water.
  2. Add the Dawn dish soap and light corn syrup. This is where having a jar with a wide lid will be handy as you can just rinse the measuring cups or spoons in the water after measuring.
  3. Slowly fill the remainder of the jar with more warm water. If you go too fast you will end up with bubbles overflowing the top so be careful!
  4. Close the top and shake gently until the dish soap and corn syrup are completely mixed in.
  5. ENJOY!

It really is super easy to mix this up and takes less than 5 minutes from start to finish. Also, the GIANT bubbles that my kids get from using this mix never cease to amaze us all. There have been days where we have run through 3 containers of this bubble mix and I am so glad it cost me only pennies for each refill! What’s your favorite way to keep the kids having fun on these long summer days?

    Oh, how fun!
    I love bubbles so much! We even had a bubble machine blowing lots of bubbles everywhere, at the end of our unique wedding.
    Also, my oldest son, Jesse, (of 5 kids now ages 23-31) he loved bubbles so much that his very first word was BAH-BO- which was his word for bubble. haha.
    Now our little 15-month-old grandson, Ashton loves bubbles too.
