Today is always a busy, but fun day filled with parties, too much candy, and cute kids in costumes. There may also be the reminders that other moms are more clever then you are when it comes to homemade costumes or Pinterest inspired treats that are on point. It’s okay, just enjoy your kiddos and make happy family memories. Speaking of treats, Gina shared some great ideas if you need to throw something together last minute.
I spent many Halloween’s with my cousins. This old picture pops up every year. I think my mom may have been the mom with costume skills making other moms look bad. 🙂 This is pre-pinterest too. She made the Honey Bear outfit for my brother Daniel. The Care Bear head was her greatest creation which was worn by myself and then my cousin Emily. I was the Bumblebee. I want to say I was in 4th grade. She also made my brother Walter’s army pants and vest. What was your favorite Halloween costume from the 90’s?
We’ve been quite busy with fall activities. Like so busy we almost didn’t carve pumpkins! I had a mini crisis and had to go to 3 stores before I even found pumpkins for sale! We got that done last night. Whew.
Over the weekend we had a booth in a local event. I saw some really amazing costumes. I fell way behind this year, but would have loved to order something lovely from Chasing Fireflies. Did you see how absolutely adorable Shannon’s girls looked in their costumes? Totally worth pinning her post so you can find a great costume in the future.
We raided our costume bin and transformed a cat costume into a panda. Spiderman grew a bit since the last time he wore his suit and it was more snug then we remembered, but it worked. Then there was Drift from Fortnite. The kids always have such excitement about dressing up. It makes me happy to share in their joy.
Enjoy exercising the parent tax on your children’s candy bags. When you’ve maxed out on candy, turn to Halloween cereal. 🙂 Carinn has had me thinking about Monster Crunch ever since I read her post.
Happy Halloween!
Halloween will quickly be behind us, but we still have a month of Fall to enjoy. Shay has been sharing some very cute ideas. I’m not a crafty person, but I will be trying the Fabric Apple craft she posted HERE. She inspires me often!
