Right now it seems like winter will never end in our neck of the woods. Kids are still racking up snow days and we all could use a reason to celebrate. Hopefully March will go out like a lamb but just in case, here are some fun and wacky holidays to help brighten up the rest of the month and this never ending winter.
My family LOVES celebrating this first holiday on our list. Some years we have fun cereal treats, other years the kids have picked out a box of their favorite cereal, and sometimes I ‘let’ them celebrate with cereal for dinner. This holiday was made for moms just as much as their kids.
Brighten up the rest of your month with today’s celebration. Of course, with the 1 foot plus of snow cover we currently have at our house this may take a bit more creativity on my part. If all else fails I’ll let the kids plant come flower seeds in little pots and see what we can grow before Easter.
If this holiday doesn’t make you break into a classic VeggieTales song I’m sorry for your loss. I have a good giggle as I kept think “Because I love my lips!” every time I am reminded of this day.
As parents we are no strangers to small beings in our homes that frequently can lack common courtesy. What better day to teach our kids about common courtesy and maybe extend some to those around us.
This holiday is a great way for you spinach lovers to add in some extra greens to your day. Salads, smoothies, in eggs, on sandwiches… so many ways to enjoy spinach! Even those of us who aren’t huge spinach fans can usually get behind a good spinach dip.
