1 In back to school/ big kids

the adventure begins

My husband and I have been struggling with deciding which high school my daughter would go to. After much consideration we decided we wanted her to go to a school that would offer her the most opportunities for college scholarships. The best choice for my daughter happens to be our Alma Mater, North Augusta High School (NAHS). Back in the day I was offered several scholarships as a female athlete, and now the school is offering female athletes full rides for college. My daughter is a very talented soccer player and vocalist, and I want her to have every opportunity for her dreams to come true.
New School
I resigned from teaching at this school six years ago when my son was born, and since then it has taken on this new state-of-the-art establishment. NAHS offers Freshman Academy for all the rising freshman to take courses in the same location with the exception of exploratory classes, and any upper level academic courses they may be taking. In a way I wish I were still teaching so that I could be there for her, but I am glad to say that she is making some incredible friends.

New School
The next few years will shape her into the woman she is going to become, and I want to make sure that she has the opportunity to excel in all she does. Now high schools are offering dual enrollment to take college courses, which will help out many families that would like for their children to go to college. This program allows them to take high school courses, but receive credit for both high school and college. Some students are able to graduate and enter college as sophomores or juniors! It just depends on how many dual credit courses they take while they are in high school. This is a huge opportunity for families that are not able to send their children to college.

So excited to see what great things my daughter will be doing on this adventure!

Do you know where your child will go to high school?
