I saw some articles in March about people putting their Christmas lights up in the spring to bring some cheer. I didn’t jump on that trend, but I did decorate the house VERY early this year. I am no longer a purist about waiting until after Thanksgiving. The ambiance of the tree brings a cozy and comfortable glow to our evening that I can’t get enough of.
However, before you can deck the halls, you really need to clean them. It’s best to get rid of the dust bunnies and give them a new chance to populate while the decor is up for the next 2 months. The timing of this Hoover review was perfect. You may recall that we redid our floors about 6 months ago. You might also notice we flipped our room for Christmas. Cozier for winter.
I was using a very old and heavy vacuum to clean our throw rug and bedrooms, but it wasn’t the best tool for the job. I’m now a beaming owner of a Hoover ONEPWR HEPA+ Cordless Upright Vacuum. I need to begin by saying what a DELIGHT it is that it’s cordless. I smile every time I use it in the dining room and don’t get the cord all tangled in the chairs and wrapped around the table legs. Actually, it’s become a bit of a joke around here that I exclaim about it being cordless each time I use it – which is daily. Where has this vacuum been my whole life?
There are a lot of good things to say about this vacuum. It gives me an old school vibe since it does have a bag. The bag allows you to hold much more dirt and dust then a bag-less vacuum. It’s a good mix of modern and vintage in the looks and it handles great when in use.
This doesn’t really make sense that I really dislike sweeping, but I enjoy vacuuming. I’ve met my perfect match because I have broken up with my broom since this vacuum arrived. I can sweep the throw rug and jump right on to the hard floors very effortlessly. With the flick of a switch on the handle you can choose the best speed for the surface you are sweeping. It’s good about automatically shutting off if the edge of a small throw rug gets sucked in wrong.
The battery life had me a tiny bit skeptical, but I have been impressed that I can vacuum my whole house at least 2 times with one charge. The unit comes with two batteries so I keep one on the charger and one in my Hoover. It has a handy feature that you can press a button on the battery to know how much life is left. 1 to 4 bubbles will illuminate.
What about the baseboards where the dust bunnies populate and you need the broom to really get a close clean? This brilliant vacuum has these brushes on the sides that reach out and snatch up the dust. I’m so impressed with the details they thought of. I should also point out that it is narrow enough to fit between kitchen chairs and it also fits under the overhang of my lower cupboards so I can get a close sweeping of my kitchen floors too. My broom must be sobbing for my attention because I have not needed it!

Read to the end of this post because there is a GIVEAWAY for a ONEPWR HEPA+ Cordless Upright Vacuum Kit ($299 retail value). Merry early Christmas to one lucky reader!
I want to transition to one more Hoover ONEPWR vacuum that you should most certainly consider putting on your Christmas list. It’s a perfect pair for my new vacuum. The ONEPWR Dust Chaser Cordless Handheld Vacuum takes the place of hauling out a vacuum to use the hose for hard to reach places. This handheld unit is also awesome for the quick pickup’s. Take note of the last bullet…the batteries are interchangeable on my upright vacuum and my dust chaser. So I actually have a rotation of 3 batteries.
- 2x more suction* with a high performance digital motor for long lasting power for tough jobs
- Portable & Lightweight, weighs less than 3 lbs. making it easy to use and store
- Dual Filtration With HEPA Media captures 99.97% of dust, pet dander & allergens
- Every ONEPWR™ battery works with every ONEPWR™ product
I appreciate the attachments for the dust chaser for hard to reach places like our dining room chair rungs. Wow does it get grody in there. The brush and powerful suction has my chairs looking much better. The cookie monster still lives in our home, but the crumbs don’t.
Speaking of our cookie monster, he’s also a very capable cleaner. He got on a cleaning roll the other day and chased the dust away on our TV stand. We had glitter and needles on the couch that my husband quickly cleaned up too. I like a vacuum that my whole family can operate!
As we head into the Christmas season I would highly recommend these 3 Hoover machines for your wish list.
- The Tesla of Carpet Cleaners – my favorite machine that I can’t live without – cleans carpets like I paid someone to do it, but I didn’t!
- ONEPWR HEPA+ Cordless Upright Vacuum – a CORDLESS vacuum that transitions between hard floors and carpet like a pro!
- ONEPWR Dust Chaser Cordless Handheld Vacuum – easy to grab less then 3 lb defeater of dust.
