I posted about my kitchen renovation pre-COVID, but wasn’t until recently that I was able to finish my Simple Kitchen Renovation. It is finally finished!! I have been waiting on this renovation project to come to an end for quite some time. I can finally say that I LOVE how my kitchen turned out.
I began my kitchen reno by painting my kitchen cabinet doors on my post about The Renovation Project Begins. The actual antiquing process was written about on my DIY Antique Cabinets where I explain step-by-step the process I used to get these beautiful cabinet doors. I created some side-by-side pictures so that you can see the drastic change these upgrades have made. Out contractor wanted to create a bigger kitchen by busting down the wall where the window was, but I didn’t want to go to the extra expense. The only thing I have left to do is replace the hood, but other than that I love how it turned out.
Here are some up close pictures for you to see the drastic changes. just remember only the counter tops, backsplash, sink and faucet are new. I kept the old cabinets and antiqued them. Now all I need to do is touch up some of my paint job and seal the cabinets really good to prevent chipping.
I have saved the best for last . . . I love my new sink. Unfortunately, I had planned on a farmhouse sink, but with our drain system it wasn’t going to work out. Our drain for our kitchen sink goes uphill and in order to install the farmhouse sink it would have had to drain even more uphill. We didn’t have any room left to correct the drain issue so I had to select a different sink to make it drain better. All I have left is to polish up a few imperfections and get a new hood and I will be completely set.
What do you think of my Simple Kitchen Renovation?
