About 2 months ago we discovered the joys of Angelina Ballerina. Since then 4-year-old Michaela has become obsessed with all things ballet. She frequently is found dancing around the house ‘practicing’ her ballet moves and at least once a week I hear how “When I’m 5 I get to take ballet lessons. Knowing all this it came no surprise to me that the Angelina Ballerina Dance with Me game from The Wonder Forge has become an instant favorite here are our house.
It doesn’t matter or not if your little ballerina already loves watching Angelina Ballerina on television, this game is sure to entertain. And thankfully it’s a cooperative game where there’s one game mover piece being moved by all players, so it can be a wonderfully short game if you only want to play a quick round before bedtime! Perfect for those instances where you’ve promised one game but really just want the kids to go to bed already…
Michaela’s favorite part of the Angelina Ballerina Dance with Me game is doing all the dance moves from the dance cards. She has never taken a dance lesson in her life, but trying the different ballet positions and working on her balance are so much fun she doesn’t just wait for the turns in the game when performing the dance moves is required to get up and do her very best to be a ballerina.
It hasn’t happened yet, but I won’t be surprised on the day that the game board and Angelina game mover piece are out just for pretend play. What aspiring ballerina wouldn’t want to pretend to be on the stage that’s part of the game board? Plus, behind the game board it’s not just a plain white background, but instead shows a real backstage. Quite the special extra touch for inspiring ballerinas with abounding imaginations.
