Hi SIMPLE fans! I’m Jodi from JodiMichelle.com where I tell stories. Those stories often center around my life as a mom and wife to a serial entrapenuer. They center around my kitchen table, our craft table and often through the lens of my camera. I’d love to “meet you” in the comments of my blog any time … but right now we have some serious eats to discuss.
With Spring Break coming I’m sure we’re not all flying the coop; here’s a great Staycation idea that will bring the fun right to your dining room table.
I bring to you: Walking Tacos.
The hardest thing about Walking Taco’s is browning the meat. So let’s get to it.
Add your thawed ground beef to an already hot pan on stove.
Stir and let brown.
When your meat is brown get your taco seasoning ready to add to it & add away.
Then some water to thicken everything up.
Now for the fun part.
You’ll need:
# Taco meat of your choice (we had ground beef, but chicken or steak are great too)
# Individual bags of Fritos chips, we chose the chili cheese flavor
# Your favorite toppings; sour cream, cheese, hot sauce or salsa, refried beans, lettuce, etc
Open your bag of chips.
Add your taco meat.
Then layer your toppings – start with cheese so it melts if you want some and go from there.
Lettuce.
Sour cream.
YUM.
I added hot sauce to mine. (A must in my book.)
Best part about Walking Tacos? When you’re done … clean up is a breeze!
Easy Staycation food, easy we’re-going-to-the-park food, easy birthday food for a bunch of folks, easy way to serve chili at that cook-off you never win (this could score you the blue ribbon this year, I just know it.). It’s just easy.
And delicious.
Need help with the cleanup beyond the table? Get that stuck on residue off with the help of Aluminum foil, I’ll show you how here.
Want even more? (Because I’m irresistible too, I know) Become a fan and Like me on Facebook and catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest.
