For a few years now I’ve been thinking about getting a bread maker.  But as enticing as the thought of fresh made bread was, I had been a little nervous about how much effort it would take on my part to actually use the bread maker, clean it, etc.  I should have been much less worried about all that and much more full of delicious warm home made bread!

About four weeks ago I started using a West Bend Hi-Rise Bread Maker.  I am in total love with this machine.  Not only is there a list of recipes to use included in the user manual, the machine is easy to use and even easier to clean!  I just finished making a loaf of bread and all I had to do was add the ingredients, plug in the machine, and push 4 buttons (I counted).  The most time consuming part of the whole process was by far the measurement of the 6 ingredients it took to make my delicious bread.

Here’s all the “bells & whistles” info about the awesome and affordable Hi-Rise Bread Maker:

  • Dual knead blades provide thorough dough kneading for a lighter taste and higher rise!
  • Traditionally shaped, horizontal bread pan can accommodate 4 different loaf sizes; 1 lb, 1.5 lb, 2 lb, and 2.5 lb.
  • 11 digital settings include Basic, Quick, French, Sweet, Dough, and a special customizable homemade setting.
  • Easy enough for beginners, but customizable for expert bakers as well. The “”homemade”” setting allows preferences to be set for kneading, rising, baking, and keeping warm.
  • 3 level crust control: Light, Medium, and Dark.
  • Delayed start cycle is programmable for up to 12 hours, set it in the morning and come home to the scent of freshly baked bread.
  • Instruction manual includes many delicious recipes, including garlic bread, wheat bread, bagel dough, even Low Carb and Gluten-free!
  • Includes 2 knead blades, non-stick bread pan, measuring cup and spoon, and knead blade removal tool.

Now, I’m not laying claim to being the world’s greatest baker, but my bread is pretty darn tasty even though my loaves have been a little misshapen (I swear I’ve been trying to fix that but this darn Michigan weather keeps changing and ruining it for me).  I know my family loves our new Hi-Rise Bread Maker as much as I do because I can guarantee this loaf will be completely gone by mid afternoon.

    I already have the 5qt oblong slow cooker and it's awesome! I'd love West Bend's Bread Maker… right now I make my bread without and while it's fun and a learning experience, it's a little labor intensive. Have wanted a bread maker for years!
