My four year old has recently started saying he is afraid of the dark. I have always tried since he was born to not have a total black room for him when he wakes up in the night. I usually have on his stereo which is pretty bright and leave the door open a crack. Recently it doesn’t seem to be enough for him.
Doing my research on something that he could hold in bed instead of having a “night light” plugged in the wall I stubbled upon banana design lab and found the Banana design lab with the Chu Chi Plushie Night Light. It is a super cute little portable, huggable, smush-able plushie night light also with ambient mood light. This little guys is perfect for any child who wakes at night and can’t see anything. He is also the perfect plushie for anyone scared of the dark or lonely when mom and dad are not around.
The soft light from ChuChi’s head chase monsters from their shadowy hiding spots. It can also act as a lantern to help with nighttime journeys to the restroom. His glowing heartbeat rhythm changes organically over time to offer peace and solace for anyone trying sleep or relax. It produces a nice ambient glow in a dark room, or by a bedside.
My son has been using this every night since he got it and it has been helping. He hasn’t said anything about being afraid of the dark. It is great! It gives just enough light so he can see in his room.
From banana design lab website:
ChuChi are nocturnal creatures from far northern Siberia They sleep during the day and are awake at night, so they can catch and eat monsters.
They have a special light in their heads. You can travel with one of them thought a dark hallway, or just light-up your room. They also have a warm glowing heartbeat light, that beats in an organic and changing pattern. You can’t resist getting sleepy with this relaxing ambient heartbeat.
Squeeze ChuChi’s hand to turn it On and Off. Squeeze it again to switch between the “night-light” and soothing “ambient hearbeat.” ChuChi are Nocturnal, so you can only see their glow at night or in a dark room.

August 22, 2011 at 10:18 pmI’ve been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It’s lovely value enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the internet might be much more useful than ever before.
