peppa pig :: toys, books & dvds!

As the parent to two young girls I just love it when we find a new age-appropriate character for them to like that is also approved by the grown-ups in the house.  Our newest friend is Peppa Pig and she has been a big hit here!!!

If you’re not familiar with Peppa Pig, you are missing out!  The show follows Peppa, an adorable & energetic little piggy who lives with her brother George, Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig.  Peppa lives in the U.K. and speaks with a sweet British accent while she plays with her friends, goes on trips, and interacts with her family.

After watching the Peppa Pig: Muddy Puddle and Other Stories DVD my girls became intrigued with all things Peppa.  I was also promptly asked when they could go about jumping in puddles (which we discussed requires an ‘okay’ from mom or dad first).  All 10 “peppasodes” were kid favorites and very age appropriate in content.

Peppa’s adventures always end happily with laughter and loud snorts, just like my girls when they’re playing with their Hug ‘n Oink Peppa.  I didn’t catch the snorts, but they seriously started shortly after this video ended!

If you’re looking for the most amazing playhouse/dollhouse for your kids I highly recommend the Peek ‘n Surprise Playhouse and accompanying sets.  The “peek ‘n surprise” part comes from the various furniture items in the playhouse that can flip to reveal two different options.  For example, our extra Peppa & Friends: Birthday Party set shows a birthday cake and table set up on one side and party presents on the other.I’m excited to unveil Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List book to my girls when we do some of our Christmas traditions this holiday season.  They will love hearing the story of Peppa helping Santa out of a Christmas Eve jam!
