Barry Gellert, otherwise known as, Barry G is my kind of music artist. In addition to being a father to twins (a boy and girl) and a musician, he is also a music educator.
Barry G not only knows kids and what kids like, he knows the test of sanity a parent can experience when their child has fallen in love with a song/artist/album so completely that repeated play is the only way to listen.
He wants to offer kids “music that they’ll feel in their bones,” timeless melodies that are easy to sing along to, while preserving parental sanity after repeated plays. In songwriting he draws from his wide-ranging musical interests, from the blues to Appalachian string band ballads, Western swing to rock and roll.
Huh-uh, the new release from Barry G and the Dream Band Kids features 10 original songs that are easy for kids to sing along to and understand while catching their attention and encouraging kids to get up and move around. This is the third release from myKazoo Music Label.
“Act Like an Animal” had my girls both… acting like animals, while the title track of “Huh-uh” simply inspired dancing around. From start to finish the entire album was a hit with my 2-year-old and 4-year-old and I’m sure we will be having it on repeat play without testing my sanity. 😉
