bringing the coffee shop to your refrigerator :: review

How many of you took part in National Coffee Day on September 29, 2012?  Were you even aware of it?  I had heard rumblings of it since I had been frequenting our local coffee shop, but other than rumblings that was about it.

Since August, my life has been nuts to say the least.  I find that I have been getting less and less sleep due to life, deadlines, moving, family events…and on and on.  Less sleep for me = tired during the day…at oh, about 11:00 LOL! I have never been much of a coffee consumer until I was at my local coffee shop with some girlfriends and saw they offered iced coffee.  THAT caught my attention.  I ordered one and have been hooked ever since.

Lately however, the cost has been eating at me.  It is approximately $4-5 PER drink (at my coffee shop), depending on the size ordered.  If you are doing one a day that sure adds up!  (Thankfully my addiction wasn’t that bad…otherwise I think my husband may have something to say about where our money was going) 🙂

Then, I was at the grocery store and saw this:

I was intrigued but with three kids in tow, stopping to check it out wasn’t an option.  A couple weeks later (any many more stops at our local coffee shop later), I had an opportunity to hold a fun little Iced Coffee Party at my house courtesy of Mom Central and International Delight.  Now it was my time to check things out!

We were having a business meeting at our house and I thought this was the perfect opportunity.  We were going to be talking and staying up late.  Perfect to keep us going!

Let me tell you my personal findings, so yummy!!!  Not only are these little beverages yummy, oh heavens the cost savings are immense!   I can purchase an entire container (as pictured above) for the same amount I was spending on ONE of the beverages at the local coffee shop!!  Ummmm, hello!!!

Each guest left with coupons and two of my friends “won” the free product coupons 🙂

From what I heard from the guests, their take on the International Delight Iced Coffee was just as pleasurable as mine.  I for one have purchased this since my party, and at least one of my guests told me they did too.

The International Delight Iced Coffee comes in three flavors:

  • Mocha (my personal favorite)
  • Vanilla
  • Original
  • Carmel Machiotto coming soon!
And here are some things I learned about the International Delight Iced Coffee:
  • There is approximately 76 mg of caffeine versus 50 in other Iced Drinks
  • In a single serving there is only 150 calories.  And one serving is plenty!
  • Made with Skim Milk
  • Made with 100% premium Arabica coffee
  • There is NO partially hydrogenated anything or high fructose corn syrup!
So no more waiting in lines to get an iced coffee.  No more packing up the crew in the vehicle to get there.  Just grab a container of the International Delight Iced Coffee when you are on your next grocery store trip, place it in your refrigerator and enjoy!
