secret of the wings is new on dvd :: review

Tomorrow is a day my little Adalynn has wanted for, for a while.  From the second she saw the previews for the “new Tinkerbell movie” (her words), she was enthralled by it and couldn’t wait for it.  Almost daily she asked if it was being released yet.

Let me tell you she jumped up and down when today’s mail came. In it was a movie she will most likely covet for quite some time. (Covet in a good way mind you 🙂 ) I mean, after all she IS Tinkerbell for Halloween this year!

When Lilianna got home from school, we popped it in to the DVD player and watched it.  Together.  Because there was no way I was letting them watch it without me! It was just as amazing as we all imagined it to be.

The color in the blu-ray version of the Secret of the Wings was outstanding.  Outstanding isn’t even a good descriptive word.  I was completely awe-struck.  There, is that better?  It was gorgeous!

Now on to the storyline…here is a synopsis and I’ll follow it up with a couple of my thoughts:
Tinker Bell and her friends embarks on a new adventure into the never-before-seen mysterious Winter Woods, where Tink finds out that she has a sister and discovers other incredible secrets that will change her life forever in Secret of the Wings, releasing Tuesday October 23rd on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

I have you with that description, don’t I?  You guys, I must tell you.  If you have a little one that loves Tinkerbell and The Fairies as much as my Adalynn, trust me and just purchase this.  It is released in perfect time for a Christmas stocking stuffer (if you can wait that long).  It’s perfect for a Family Night too (because I couldn’t wait that long LOL!)

It starts off with Tink up to her Tinkerbell antics of getting in to trouble and pushing the limits.  From the beginning she breaks out of her “hometown” to escape to the Winter land – because obviously her curiosity got the best of her.  I’m not going to give any spoilers here, but this movie shows in easy to understand ways how the sisters were separated.  It’s beautiful how they animated that.  It shows the choices they had to make in order to “live”.  My Lili turned to me at that point and said she could never do that – never be away from her sisters.  SO cute!  In the end, well….you have to watch it.  I’m not telling. 🙂
