The first time I heard of the Boys and Girls Club of America was from Amway. My husband and I have been involved in the Amway business for over 10 years now. It’s been a major blessing not only to us, but to many of our friends and family members. Amway is very influential, obviously. We have heard them, as a company, talk about organizations that they partner with, and the Boys and Girls Club of America was always one that intrigued me. Maybe it’s the name? Maybe if I didn’t have children, it wouldn’t intrigue me as much? I really don’t know 😉
First, let me tell you a little about the Boys and Girls Club of America:
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
A Boys & Girls Club Provides:
- A safe place to learn and grow…
- Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals…
- Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences…
- Hope and opportunity.
Next, I wanted to let you know that this year marks the 2nd annual BGCA Give the Gift of a Great Future Holiday Campaign. I encourage you to take a look at the website and learn more – more than what I can share with you in this post. You can get there at the other link or by clicking HERE.
Last, here are a few things that YOU can do to help:
- Play the interactive Giving Game – it’s free – and you can easily donate a gift to a club this season. When I played, I “won” giving money towards a Club Membership Fund.
- There is a photo contest going on! Head over and place a vote!
- BGCA gives out tips. These tips help parents teach their children the value of giving back. I don’t know about you, but I always love learning ways to help teach my kids this very valuable life lesson. There are 10 tips shared…and two that we have already started focusing on are talking more about giving (than receiving) as well as reading books about giving. Also, we are always as enthusiastic about giving as possible. That’s quite contagious, so why not be excited about something oh so awesome!
Head on over, check out the Boys and Girls Club of America and tell me what you have learned or taken away from their site. I always love hearing from our readers!
“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.”
