Easter is just around the corner! I can’t believe how quickly holidays seem to be flying at me now that I have a kid. Anywho, I’m actually pretty proud of myself because I have everything ready for Lily’s easter basket – a puzzle, stickers, a book, a coloring book, apple sauce pouches, bunny crackers, some fresh fruit… and I’ll probably put a couple of chocolate treats in there as well, but the focus won’ t be on candy, that’s for sure.

Hide ’em Hatch ’em Eggs have been rated the #1 Easter toy on Amazon.com. Each egg contains a little critter who will hatch in water. It takes up to a week to fully hatch and grow these little guys, but they are pretty cute. Both my kiddo and my friend Anne’s kiddo (2 and 3, respectively) will be our product testers! 🙂

4/3/2013 UPDATE! I’m pleased to report that Anne and her little man had a BLAST watching their egg hatch since Easter! Little man was SO excited to check his egg –  several times a day, in fact – and made mommy change the water just as often. Anne found that warm or hot water worked best to help the egg hatch. I had started with the room temperature water that was suggested, but it was slow going, so I tried warm water and that seemed to help. Anne started her eggs after me, so I suggested that she go with warm to hot water, and that really did help out from the get-go.  My kiddo’s critters are now out of the water and have shrunk down – we left them in the water so long that they were super bloated and odd looking! It was crazy! But they are cute now (like in the picture at right)!
