insta-fun with instax mini 8 instant camera :: review

Confession time :: When was the last time you actually printed a picture or ordered prints of pictures? Here, I’ll go first. The last picture I printed was for my daughter’s “Birthday Board” at school. In April!

I know! Totally shameful! I’m just really bad at moving all those fabulous photos from my computer to anywhere else. It makes me miss the days of taking a photo and instantly having the photo in your hands, ready to share. Oh, the simpler times.

Well, somehow Fujifilm USA must have heard my pleas (or the pleas of my children) because they have rocked the instant photo sharing thing! Meet the Instax Instant Cameras!!!

The Instax Mini 8, the newest addition to the Instax family, is simply awesome! The retro-ish look is super fun but the real fun begins when you start snapping pictures. Get ready to blow the minds of your kids! Instantly, after taking your photo, a credit-card size photo spits out of the top of the camera and, after just a minute, you have awesome little photos to share!

My kids cannot get enough of the Instax Mini 8! So far we’ve used it to take fun photos at an ice-cream party we hosted for the neighborhood kids and a friend’s birthday party. It’s such a fun alternative to the ever-popular photo booths! And a great little keepsake for kids to take home with them after the party!!

We’ve also used it to snap a quick picture of the girls to send to their pen pals this week! It seems so minor but being able to snap a quick picture with the Instax Mini 8 saved me from having to find a recent photo on my computer, plug my computer in to the printer, locate the photo paper that got packed away {because, hello!, we just moved}, and then print the photo. The Instax Mini 8 too just seconds and I have the most up-to-date photo of the girls to send to their pen pals! Awesome! Chalk that one up to mom being a total rockstar!

The Instax Mini 8 is easy enough for even my 5 year old to take a great picture but also allows you to adjust the settings based on the environment you’re in, giving the more advanced photographers some creative control. And, with five fun colors {yellow, pink, blue, white, and black}, there is one that fits every style!

Obviously we are having a ton of fun with the Instax Mini 8 from FujiFilm. It’s a perfect accessory to all our Summer fun!!!
