I don’t know about you, but I like to mix things up for my kids when it comes to packing their lunch. 
I mean, how boring is it to open your lunch to find the same things day in and day out? I don’t know that my 7 year old really minds, but I think it helps my “cool mom” factor when I do mix things up and surprise them.
Last week I received some goodies from Sara Lee that I think would be a great snacking option for you to look in to for your child’s lunch this school year. And what a better place to fit this option than our Back to School and Fall Fashion Event! I received two boxes, and each item was equally yummy. I especially liked the Buttery Sunshine Cakes. It reminds me of summer time and making delicious Strawberry Shortcake. Well, obviously, there is no strawberries, but it’s the cake I’m talking about.
The products that I received DO have high fructose corn syrup in them, so this isn’t something I will be feeding my children on a regular basis. But if you don’t keep track of that with your family, these will be right up your alley! They are oh. so. yummy. 🙂
Not only are these options great for lunches, but if I worked, I would think these would be great to hide in my desk and when I’m having a bad day, pull them out to snack on. The calories aren’t THAT bad in comparison to desserts. The Buttery Sunshine Cakes have 180 calories and the Devil’s Food Creme Cakes have 200 calories. Not too bad if you are looking to indulge just a little.
All in all, I was surprisingly in love with the taste of these. We really don’t snack on a lot of pre-packaged snacks, but these are ones I can see splurging on every now and then. And with a suggested retail price of $3.99, something I can justify too! 🙂
