time to change your oil to pompeian pure olive oil :: review

pompeian_logoWhat type of oils do you use in your kitchen?  I mostly use olive oil and coconut oil.

I want to share with you the wonderful olive oil I received to review. It’s Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  It is delicious and I love the flavor.

Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is committed to freshness from harvest to table ensuring that only the finest olives are selected. Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is extremely low in acidity, which accounts for its robust taste and heady fragrance. The nuances of the flavor can be especially enjoyed in dressings, salads, vinagrettes or as a table condiment for dipping bread of crudité.

My dad makes this wonderful pasta dish that I just love and that’s what I am going to share with you.

  • 16oz pasta of your choice (spaghetti, angel hair, rotini, linguine, whatever you like)photo
  • ½ to 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 sprigs of fresh parsley diced or 1 tablespoon of dried
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil or several fresh leaves diced or shredded.
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 2-3 cloves of minced or crushed garlic
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1-2 cups of baby spinach
  • ¼ to ½ cup chopped sundried tomatoes
  • 2-3 cups of cubed chicken

Cook pasta in boiling, salted water until “al dente” according to package instructions. Drain and dump back into the pot.

At the same time in a large sauté pan, heat oil and garlic for a couple of minutes, then add remaining spices and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add any extra ingredients at this time and cook until tender.

Dump the oil, spice and extras mixture into the pot with the pasta and mix thoroughly. Let sit for a few minutes.

Sprinkle with parmesan, asiago or mozzarella cheese and serve with garlic bread, focaccia or bruschetta.

This dish was super delish with Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive oil.  The Pompeian olive oil has the perfect taste for this dish.

I also use this oil to cook green beans in the oven with too.  It makes them perfect and tastes like candy.
