easy meal planning and prep with eMeals :: review

emealsSeveral years ago I heard about a company who would provide you a week’s worth of tasty but (relatively) easy recipes and provide a shopping list that you could print out based on these recipes. The goal for me at the time was to keep our grocery bill as low as possible without eating all boxed or canned food. At the time the company was called E-Mealz and I enjoyed the recipes but we were transitioning to a healthier, cleaner type of diet and I’d discovered an app where my husband and I could both access the grocery list and we decided to get rid of our E-Mealz subscription.

Fast forward a few years and I had the chance to be reintroduced to the company. But not just the same old company but the newly re-branded eMeals. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the reasons I’d let my subscription expire had been not only fixed, but made to be pretty. (I’m a visual person. I like pretty things.) There is a wide variety of meal plans available, and you choose the one that is the best fit for your family – whether that’s a certain diet or certain budget. They offer meal plans for a variety of diets including gluten-free, paleo, vegetarian, and more. And if you would rather focus on the most economical menu, they offer plans based on the sales of your preferred grocery store such as Kroger, Publix, Aldi, Whole Foods, and more!

So what exactly do you get in your meal plan? Well, once you’ve chosen which plan you’d like (you can change it if you decide you want to try another plan), they send you weekly emails with the menu for the week, which you can print out or you can log on to the webpage and get a print out of your meals (usually one main dish and a side). But you can use the app to see your meals for the week and the shopping list. (That’s my favorite part!) As you go through the store, you mark off each item and it moves to the bottom of the list.
emealsAll of the recipes that we’ve tried so far have not only been delicious but easy to prepare. Honestly not all of the recipes are ones I would have tried if they hadn’t been on the plan but they’ve all been tasty. The kids even slurped up every drop of the soup after soccer earlier this week.

eMeals has several pricing plans: 3 months for $30, 6 months for $48, and one year for $60. You can add breakfast and lunch plans for an additional price. That means for as low as $5 a month you can save time by not having to plan out all of your meals, save money by getting foods that are on sale, and eat delicious, healthy food. What’s not to love?
