I remember when I was younger, I had the Samantha American Girl doll. I remember my mom talking about how special this doll was, how we were to take care of her and she would last for a long time. Well, I can attest to the truth of that statement. Today, we have my Samantha American girl doll in my house…and MY girls are now playing with her! Talk about a generational toy. While it’s an investment, it’s an investment that I see as a worthwhile one.
From the earrings, to the ring, to the eyelashes and freckles. Her stunning eyes and outfit all work so magically together. Pair that with a sweet little read for your young reader, and you have a win/win situation all around. Start the imaginative play at a young age encouraging your little one to start reading. Soon, they move what they read in the book and role play in real life. I’m in love with this idea – and I know I’m not the only one!
Saige is only available until December 31, 2013. So hop on over and grab her up before supplies run out and she goes away forever. I know my Lili has had her eye on Saige since April!! I think it’s because Saige loves horses and is a bit of a free spirit – much like my Lili 🙂
Not only does American Girl have dolls you can order online, they have stores!! We visited the American Girl store in Chicago last spring with my Mom and two of my daughters. That is where my oldest picked up her FIRST American Girl doll, Julie. As overwhelming as it was in the store with all the choices, it’s so, SO very magical for the little ones in your life. We already have our trip for next year planned so my middle daughter can get her OWN American Girl doll from her Mimi. Creating memories – that’s what they are all about!!
Have you looked at American Girl before? What do you love about them? What’s on top of your dream list – spill it!

November 25, 2013 at 8:24 pmI can’t believe all the add one they have for each dolls and the prices. My mother owns Molly and keeps her on display. She got the school desk and some other stuff. But she showed me the catalog and I couldn’t get over the merchandise. It is a lovely gift, but pricey, however if you think about a gaming system and the controls and extra games…I. Much rather spend less money on the American girl doll and have my child use their imagination and interact with others.

November 26, 2013 at 1:58 pmOh my goodness, what a great point Olivia! When you compare this to gaming systems you are so right! We don’t just purchase these on a whim. These have very special meaning, it’s not like a baby doll you can just pick up at any department store! I hope my kids can learn to value these like I was grown up to value them too! 🙂 We love looking through the catalog dreaming. It’s so heavenly!! 🙂
