This is my son’s first Christmas, so I want to make this holiday season extra special. While the Christmas tree, lights, decorations, food and atmosphere add to the “feel” of Christmas, the things that last are the memories we make and cherish the rest of our lives.
After a fun afternoon of tromping through the snow searching for the perfect Christmas tree, we headed home and snuggled up on the couch as a family to watch The Promise: The Birth of the Messiah. This is a wonderful animated film that sings its way through the story of Mary and Joseph as they welcome the birth of the Lord Jesus. What a special way to spend time as a family!
Amidst all the traditions surrounding Christmas, we want our son to understand and celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, but we try to always bring our focus back to the true meaning of Christmas.
ABOUT THE PROMISE
The Promise: The Birth of the Messiah is an animated musical celebration of one of the most pivotal events in all human history, the birth of Jesus Christ.
This beautifully crafted musical is a faithful adaptation of the birth narrative from the Gospel of Luke in both story and song. The animated production leverages optical motion technology to blend traditional animation techniques with the performance talents of ballet dancers and dramatic stage actors. The result is a unique and worshipful story experience that will inspire audiences young and old for years to come.
My son was captivated by the beautiful music in this film. Watching the characters sing praise to God and proclaim the coming of the Messiah was a joy to watch. I am sure your family will love this movie as much as ours did! You can view the trailer HERE.
The Promise: The Birth of the Messiah will make a wonderful stocking stuffer this Christmas. Be sure to pick up a copy and/or enter to win one below.
