Me llamo Shanda.

I may have taken several semesters of Spanish in high school, but I am finding that since I do not use it on a regular basis, I am forgetting a lot of what I had learned. That is why I am having so much fun watching Early Lingo with my son!

Early Lingo is a series of DVDs designed to teach your child how to speak a foreign language. You may think that your child is too young or that it could be confusing to learn multiple languages. If this is the case, you can read the benefits of learning a foreign language as a child HERE.

Early Lingo fully submerses your child in the language by using repetition and authentic accents. This is the same way we teach our children new words! For instance, when teaching your child the color red (rojo in Spanish) your child will see a red ball, a red crayon, and a red slide. Each time the color red is shown, the voice over says “rojo” and identifies the object.

Follow Jojo and Lulu on their adventures through the park where they discover colors and shapes. Using animated sequences and live video footage, your child will learn basic words, verbs and simple phrases in an everyday activity.

Sometimes I feel like children’s movies have too much going on and can be overstimulating. With Early Lingo, you can be sure that your child is getting a clear depiction of an object through its simple, yet vibrant animations and video footage. I know my son has enjoyed watching Jojo as he explores the colors and shapes found at the park in Part 1 of the Spanish Series, and I have enjoyed watching it with him!

If you are looking for a way to engage your child’s mind and expand their horizon, check out the Early Lingo DVDs!
