shutterbug :: my son’s first birthday

It is kind of hard to believe that my sweet little boy turned ONE this past week! It is amazing how quickly time goes… I found myself reliving every moment that has made my heart melt over the past year. The first time he laid his head on my shoulder. The giant smile when I pick him up from the church nursery. Going to the door when I ask him “Is daddy home?” because he loves his daddy. The fact that he needs to “check in” with me every few minutes just to sit on my lap while playing together. Yeah… this is what life is all about!

This picture is extra special to me as it is a reminder of the value of life. There’s my excited little boy in the background ready to try his first cupcake, but it is the hand HOLDING the cupcake that makes this photo even more special. The man holding the cupcake is the man who gave my son his dimples. It is the man who gave me a wonderful husband. It is a man who would do anything for you… it is my son’s Pa!
