Planning a party and hosting a party are difficult feats in and of themselves. Holy cow does it take a lot to pull off a fabulous one! I was recently given the task of creating a DisneySide party and I took the task on with a smile. Having a house full of kiddos, I jumped at this opportunity. With us going to Disney last month and Disneyland this month, I thought it would be perfect to help get in the Disney spirit as well.
I wanted to share with you what YOU can do to create your own DisneySide Party. First of all, I wanted to talk to you about DisneySide. I’m sure you have been seeing this phrase all over on social media. Have you participated? Basically, it’s just little ‘ol you showing us how you can rock the DisneySide of your personality. Whether it’s you with a hat on, you hosting a Disney party, you at a theme park…show us your DisneySide! Whatever it is in your eyes.
Now, let’s get on with the list!
{To dig in more and find even MORE creative ways to host your own DisneySide Party, head on over to their planning site which can be found at disneysidecelebrations.com.}
Plate, napkins, cups, etc.
You can find fun Disney items wherever you purchase these things normally. We went straight Mickey, because you can’t go wrong there! If you want to save a few bucks, or your guest invitation list is large, find a plain colored item you can alternate with the plates, napkins and cups. Example, Disney plate, coordinating red plate, Disney plate, coordinating blue plate, Disney plate…you get the point 🙂
Photos, invitations, photo cards, and a photo booth
You can easily make a party more fun with a photo booth. Instead of renting one, make one! Purchase a tablecloth that coordinates with your table settings and voila! Tape it to the wall and make sure to take the pictures within the borders of the tablecloth, aka make shift backdrop. Kids LOVE it!
Once you have some awesome pictures and memories captured, grab your HP Photo Card Pack. Have a printer handy and you can have your guests leave with a custom card. OR….have the guest of honor take a photo (fun or serious) with each guest and make your own photo thank you card with the HP Photo Card Pack. Boom! Awesome touch!
With the HP Photo Card Pack, you can print personalized greeting cards with HP Photo Creations and customized gift cards at TwoSmiles by HP.  Create Disney Side cards you can print at home—from any inkjet printer—in minutes!
Travel in style
If you are hosting the party away from your home, I highly suggest a suitcase to carry everything in as opposed to 35 different bags (exaggerating a little for effect). The bag we have from American Tourister holds everything we needed to plan our own party!
Games & Crafts
Disney based games are a must! You can Google great ideas but we used Disney Trivia and Disney Bingo. Again, just Google it to find a free download or make up your own. It’s super fun to test your own knowledge while creating your own and super fun to watch your guests squirm as the answer they know is on the tip of their tongue.
Create custom t-shirts for all the young and old guests. Hanes has a very comfortable Comfortsoft t-shirt that would be great for this craft. Grab some Crayola Fabric markers as well and pick a topic. Best shirt, judged by the guest of honor, gets a prize.
Decorations
You can complete any party with the finishing touches of decorations. Just like you can make or break an outfit with accessories, the same is true with decorations at a party! For a small investment, you can pick up some great Disney party favors and decorations to fit your theme. Do it, totally spend the extra money. You will have the awe factor of all the guests who enter the room!
Food
With Pinterest, I highly doubt anyone is ever lacking in the creativity department when it comes to food. But, in case you are, I have a couple links to share with you that we received in our planning packet. They are from The Chew. A show that I think rocks! I had a chance to sit in their guest audience, and let me tell you, they are even funnier in real life!
Churros – can be found HERE.
Crispy Peanut Butter Caramel Apples – can be found HERE.

So tell me, what did I miss that is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL in your eyes? Inquiring minds what to know!!
