playing kitchen with toys from HABA :: review + giveaway

disclaimer giveaway

HABA logoWhen Miss M was about 2.5 years old she started playing a new game called “Cooking Show.” Four years later and she has not only continued to love this game, she has also shared her love of playing anything kitchen and food related with her little sister. After the endless frigid winter we have had I knew that replacing some of the older (and poorer quality) pieces of play food, with better quality pieces would need to happen this spring.

HABA HotdogAlready well versed in a certain Germany based toy company’s reputation for quality children’s toys with amazing details, imagine my excitement when the good folks at HABA wanted to do a review (and keep reading for the details on a great giveaway…) with us?!? Yippee!

Thanks to these characteristics HABA was on the shortlist with only 1-2 other toy companies for those new replacement quality food pieces I was about to purchase for my kids. With this being said, I am so excited to share the soft fabric groceries from HABA that my girls just can’t get enough of!

HABA SushiWith summer upon us what kid doesn’t enjoy a tasty hot dog? The HABA Hotdog set is made of polyester and felt and is for kids ages 3 years and up. With 2 halves of a baking roll, 1 hot dog, 3 slices of cucumber (or pickles depending on your kiddo’s preferences), and several cheese shreds/roasted onions the girls have been having fun for hours! Top it all off with HABA’s Ketchup & Mustard set that “squirts” red or yellow string just like a real bottle!

If your kids have more developed taste buds try a taste of Japan with the Sushi set. Made of polyester it comes with 4 little rice rolls, 1 big salmon sushi, a pair of chopsticks, wasabi and little bowl, leaf grass for decoration, and a serving board. This set has singlehandedly convinced me that I might be able to get my girls to actually try sushi sometime soon!

HABA Apple Pie with PepperEverything in their kitchen now gets seasoned with Salt and Pepper Grinders. Besides for looking just like the real ones in the kitchen, when you rotate them they make clicking/grinding noises just like the real ones! Of course now everything out of their kitchen has some salt and pepper on top.

Wrap up your HABA fabric grocery meal with some tasty Apple Pie. One of my favorite details about this pie is the two different designs on the lattice topping and how the 5 green apple slices come in a variety of green colors (just like the apples in nature). Made of polyester and measuring 6.5″ in diameter, this set also includes one cake bottom (aka pie crust).

Hotdog Set :: $9.49
Ketchup & Mustard Set :: $6.95
Sushi Set :: $16.14
Salt and Pepper Grinders :: $18.95
Apple Pie :: $12.82
