I know you’ve seen the ad on YouTube; the one with the pretty, proper lady in the loo telling you how to conceal the smell of your poo. If you’re like me, you had 3 thoughts immediately: 1. Is that real? 2. But does it work? 3. And where can I get some? Well, after a long weekend staying in a hotel with friends, I can report that yes, it’s really real! And it does indeed work. Poo~Pourri comes in a wide variety of scents and the smell isn’t over-powering, like many other “odor eliminators”. Poo~Pourri is made without chemicals and they use ingredients you’ve actually heard of before – things like lemongrass and rosemary and eucalyptus. All of the varieties that I’ve tried (5 different ones: Original, No.2, PooLaLa, Poo-Tonium, and Crap Shooter) have all been pleasant and subtle. And they work. But how? It’s really as simple as it sounds. You begin by spraying the surface of the water with Poo~pourri and it creates a barrier across the surface of the water. Then it traps the odors under the spritzed layer of potty water. That’s it!
I originally thought that Poo~Pourri was a great idea to take when you’re out and about or when you’re sharing a hotel with friends. No one wants to let it linger when they’re with friends. But we’ve also started using Poo~Pourri regularly at home. In a house with 6 people, that’s a lot of poo, y’all! So it’s great that each 2oz. bottle is good for about 100 uses. Do the math…it’s only a few pennies per poo.
