As you know, I was pregnant…and have since had my baby girl. However, we did a super fun gender reveal party so I wanted to share those pictures with you all!
I was completely new to the idea of a gender reveal party until our friends told us about them a few years ago. I didn’t know such a thing existed! How fun are they! For our last pregnancy, we did a surprise cake. My daughters were there with us at a party my friend hosted, and we had the surprise together. Gathered around were our family and friends, and they eagerly sat in anticipation as we cut in to the cake. Blue or Pink…what was it going to be? My friend had a wonderful, beautiful and creative cake made once I gave her the coveted envelope holding the sex of our sweet baby. We all know the end of this story…girl. 🙂
This time around we did something a little different. I have seen on some of my social media channels a gender reveal event where pink or blue balloons are released as soon as the family opens the box. Having three kids already, I opted for balloons. I mean, what kid doesn’t get excited for balloons! My sister and her husband put together a fun gathering of our family and friends, once again. 🙂
One thing you may not think of before you bring home your sweet bundle of joy, is what you will be washing your baby’s clothes in. You probably won’t just take the tags off and slip it on your baby, so prepare ahead of time with Dreft! Dreft is a high efficiency liquid detergent is made for safe enough to use for babies. This detergent isn’t new either, it’s been around for over 75 years! Not only do they have liquid detergent, but they have the high efficiency liquid, regular liquid and powder. In addition, there is fabric refresher spray, stain remover surface cleaner and a lot more! Check it all our HERE.
Before you go – head over and check out the “Getting Ready for Baby” Pinterest Board!!
So – I can’t wait to hear from you! Have you heard of or used Dreft before? Also, did you have your own Gender Reveal party? What did YOU do?

July 8, 2014 at 1:33 pmNo gender reveal for us. We wouldn’t have been able to contain ourselve long enough to surprise anyone and we didn’t want to wait to find out. BUT, our daughter was tricky while I was carrying her and we never got a definitive boy or girl confirmatiion via ultrasound anyway.
theresa m.
July 8, 2014 at 11:52 amI’ve not done a gender reveal, but it seems like everyone is doing them lately, and I’ve been to a bunch! My younger sister makes diaper cakes for me to give as baby reveal and/or shower gifts – and the center is always a big bottle of Dreft! Every new mom I’ve given it to is super grateful because you get all the new clothes, and usually don’t think about having to wash them and make them safe for the baby until the last minute!
kathy pease
July 8, 2014 at 10:29 amNo party but I did buy my hubby a card saying it’s a boy for my last child and I love that it is hypoallergenic

Mary Beth Elderton
July 8, 2014 at 8:35 amIn my day (the early 80’s) ultrasound machine were huge special devices at hospitals used to diagnose problem pregnancies—we didn’t know the gender ahead of time. However, Dreft was the best for baby things and dedicates even then!

June 30, 2014 at 12:47 pmI was unaware draft makes a fabric refresher/odor eliminator spray, I’d definitely be interested in trying that for the baby’s room. Very aware of Dreft – it was the only detergent I used on my older son’s clothing his first year!

June 30, 2014 at 12:46 pmI really wanted to do some type of gender reveal but didn’t.

June 30, 2014 at 5:26 amWe didn’t have a gender reveal party. Keep in mind that I had my daughters 30+ years ago so I think this gender reveal party is a new trend. We lived out of state from our family so we wrote our parents and siblings cards which stated the gender our of children.
Rebecka Iverson
June 30, 2014 at 4:15 amI actually was not able to host a gender reveal party. My husband called every person we know after each sonogram that revealed the sex of our children. If I am ever blessed with another chance to reveal the gender of my child my husband will have to wait to find out at the party.
Crystal F
June 30, 2014 at 4:00 amWe bought cards that said something about grandma and grandpa in them. It was fun and everyone was really excited. Thank you!
