Treatment for my melanoma was to remove 1 mm of tissue around the entire site of the biopsy to ensure all cancer tissue was extracted. I was left with a fairly nasty looking scar on my chest below my collarbone. I hide it the best that I can with my clothing choices. It’s shiny and purple. My surgeon took a look at it and exclaimed how great it was looking. I had to laugh and ask if we were looking at the same scar. I am thankful it was caught early and I didn’t have to undergo any extreme treatments, but I look in the mirror and see the scar every day. It’s a reminder to put on my sunscreen.
Scar Away is for new and old scars. I’ve been wearing it for 4 weeks and I’ve already begun to see my scar softening. I’m extremely impressed with how it’s working. It is supposed to mimic the natural barrier of healthy skin which in turn will hydrate and soften the scar. The coloring of my skin is looking more natural now too. The bandages are easy to wear and they stay on for days. I don’t even notice it’s there and I sweat at the gym, take showers, etc. It’s very inconspicuous. If you have a small scar, I suggest the daily discs. They are clear and they work on scars up to 1 in. in diameter.
I’ve never had a C-section, but they sell a bandage specifically for those scars. I’m sure that there are many of you out there that could benefit from that. The Scar Away LONG is a silicone scar sheet. “It’s ideal for larger scars, joints, and scars on contoured body areas such as C-sections.” The sheets are latex and drug free and one box will last for 2 months. I actually cut mine down into 3 pieces per sheet to fit my scar so I have a 6 month supply from one box. Hooray! You can buy it at your drugstore or better yet online:
