When I was a young girl, I had a doll I loved. I toted her along with me everywhere. My mom had ordered her from an 800 number and it became a treasure for us both. Not only was she a gorgeous doll, she was filled with memories. Memories that I still have to this day. This doll is helping me make memories with my own girls now too! They knew her as Samantha, a doll they could see because I had her, but not one they could really get their hands on and grow the collection with.
Today, Samantha is available again…books and doll alike! She has been reintroduced to the American Girl line as part of the BeForever launch. We received one of the newest books, and my 8-year old picked it up and read it right away!
Samantha Parkington, American Girl’s popular Victorian-era character will return to the historical lineup with an array of fun products, outfits and accessories that bring her era alive for girls!
The BeForever line is a newly-enhanced historical line that connects girls ages 8 and up with inspiring characters and timeless stories from American’s past. BeForever will debut with eight characters, each with all-new historically accurate doll outfits, accessories, a reformatted two-volume set of their classic series, and a compelling multi-ending Journey Title. The line also features a new line of historically inspired fashions for girls.
Please keep this in mind when you are shopping this upcoming Holiday season or for birthday gifts even! If you are anything like me, that brings back memories that make me squeal with delight! I can’t wait for my girls to be able to cling to Samantha and her stories like I did when I was young!
Do you have any memories or recall these classic dolls from when you were younger? I’d love to hear about it!

September 11, 2014 at 2:54 pmI LOVED my Samantha doll. I actually cried in the American Girl Doll Store as a 23 year old when I heard she was being discontinued. I’m so glad to see they are bringing her back. Do you think they will bring back others (Felicity, Kirsten) as well? Thanks for making my day!
