If you follow us on Instagram or Twitter, you already know that last weekend I was in Tennessee visiting the Thomas Nelson Publishers headquarters. I have been working with them for just about 4 years now – WOW! Time sure flies!! We had a chance to sit in round table fashion and talk about some great things. We learned, we had tears and we laughed…a lot! See….
Bottom line before I get in on the fun, if you have any books from Tommy Nelson, or if you are ever on the fence about purchasing a book from them, let me be the voice of reasoning. With SO many books to choose from, know that they take their time in deciding who they will line their name up with. They invest hours upon hours with those choices to make sure the BEST choices are made and that the books they have published are representing THEIR brands. Top notch books y’all!
Ok, let’s get on with what fun can be had in Nashville, Tennessee!
For starters, I got in Thursday and came home Sunday. From Thursday to Sunday we were full, and I’m not just talking about food! The schedule was full, but not so full it was exhausting. Such a fun time.
We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. That night, before dinner, we went on a boat ride where the gal driving the boat (in the hotel lobby basically), told some history on the place. It was pretty fun. We got to see a little water show too!
Following that, we had dinner at Jack Daniel’s Restaurant inside Opryland. You guys…amazing food! I had prime rib. π
The following night we had dinner at Puckett’s Grocery. Real close to downtown, so following dinner we explored! We went to Broadway and a handful of the gals bought some cowboy boots. They were buy 1, get 2 free. GREAT deal!
Saturday was all play and no work. We started the day at the iconic Loveless Cafe. A must, apparently, when visiting Nashville. The biscuits. Oh the biscuits. And the hash browns. Can you tell I’m a breakfast kinda gal! π
In Nashville is the Opry Mills Mall. Huge and any store you could want!! We spent a couple hours there goofing around and then had dinner at Johnny Rockets that night. Fun food all ordered ala carte. Plus, milk shakes. I got a chocolate, peanut butter shake. It was so delicious! I had most of it, so when my dinner came, I only ate half my dinner lol!!
The end of the weekend was topped with the grand finale, so to say. We visited the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night. We have all heard about it, but if you are like me, I didn’t know what to expect. To top it off, we got a back stage pass.Β WOW. The line up of performers is below. But to note, we saw Vince Gill. Again, wow. Sounds the same as he did when I was growing up!!
Had to rock the cow’girl’ boots while I was there too.Β Obvs. So much fun, mixed with a little bit of learning made for one unforgettable time!
I think that about gets it all. If you have visited Nashville, Tennessee, what am I missing? Also, what should I add to my list when I bring back my family for a family trip instead of a girls weekend?
I had to share some of what I wore too, you know, so you can fully get the feel I suppose π
