Even though I have four adorable little ones, it seemed as though I was a first time Mom with many things…even the fourth time around. Isn’t it CRAZY what you forget? When do we start tummy time, when do we give them a pacifier, when do we have them sit up, when should they start crawling…and WHEN can we feed them baby food! I did my best when it came to nursing, and I loved every second of it, but I was very excited about being able to feed all my babies some sort of baby food. It took pressure off me for being the main supply of their food. Phew!
With each of my kids, I did the introduction of food a little differently. My second nursed the longest and hence, started baby food later than the rest of my kids. By 6 months I made sure they were at least trying some baby foods. I enjoyed making my baby food, but sometimes I had to have store-bought on hand. And due to that, I really started reading labels. I mean, I had to try and get the best for my little ones, right? Remember…they grow so fast, we need to control things as long as we can, am I right? LOL!
Did you know that Gerber has a line of baby food, the Gerber 3rd Foods Lil’ Bits Recipes? I was new to this line and had to share it with you. Would have been awesome had I known about this a little earlier. But, now that I know, I have to share, share, share with all who will listen.
Gerber 3rd Foods Lil’ Bits Recipes are for babies 12 months old and those learning to chew. It comes in these cute little bowls that are shaped a bit differently than normal baby food containers. They are mixtures that will help you introduce your baby to new tastes, textures and combos. For example, you can find Apple Blueberry, Sweet Potato Apple Carrot & Cinnamon. Inside, your little one will find soft, mash-able pieces. Easy for them to eat. So cute to see them chomping away and with that inquisitive little look on their face, don’t you just wonder what they are thinking?
I still use (even though my baby is just past 12 month old) these to make some yummy food for my her! I mix these in her morning oatmeal for a new twist. She loves it and I love that they are nutritious and easy. Isn’t it awesome to know that you have something easily available so your child can have a healthy meal alongside you! Or if you want to go out, throw one of these in the diaper bag. Supper on the go!
It’s crazy how time flies. We shouldn’t waste another minute of time wondering what to feed our little ones. We should be enjoying all the little moments, because before we know it they are flying around the house choosing whatever they want to do. Looking back now, I’m so thankful that I took monthly pictures of my babies, because, like I referenced in the first paragraph, we forget so much. I’m thankful for good companies and good cameras to be able to document and feed our children! Ha!
Did you know about this line from Gerber? Do you think it’s great too that they are offering a line that will help YOU, as the parent, better transition your baby to mash-able food?
