fix itSchool is back in session for kids now, which means the official start to fall is just a couple weeks away! The time of year is here for pumpkins, jeans, bonfires, football, and so many other wonderful things in life! I love just about everything fall has to offer, and the food is no exception. Slow cookers are one of my favorite ways to cook soups, stews, hot beverages, and other warm meals. I have some staple recipes that I use again and again, and one of my favorite gifts from our wedding was a slow cooker packaged along with a Fix It and Forget It cookbook! I was so excited to see their newest cookbook come out with another wonderful compilation of recipes for the crockpot-Fix It and Forget It Slow Cooker Magic. The recipes can definitely be used all year long, but I am excited to continue trying out new recipes for this upcoming fall. IMG_8009
With over 500 recipes, you will be sure to find some that your family will love and that you won’t have to spend your whole day cooking. I love the way the book is organized. Breakfasts, soups and stews, main dishes organized by meat, side dishes, desserts, and more! The recipes use common ingredients and usually only call for less than ten. Some of my favorites so far have been slow cooker oatmeal for breakfast, classic pot roast, and crockery hot chocolate! Phyllis Good, the mom who compiled the recipes you will find in this book, makes sure that the recipes that promise to be so good, are actually ones that don’t turn to mush, but taste better from being cooked in the slow cooker!
IMG_8010The recipes in this book are perfect for so many of the things I look forward to about fall! As we get ready for weekends of watching football with friends, I love finding easy chili and appetizer recipes that I can literally fix and forget about until it’s time to eat! Hot chocolate and cider recipes will be just the thing for bonfires and hayrides at the house, and meals like honey baked ham, barbecued chicken, and tortellini and spinach soup will become a breeze leaving us time, to enjoy the crisp air and beautiful leaves! Happy back to school and happy fall everybody! fix it collage

im happy i just saw this. have been seriously looking into getting a cookbook that is slow cooker specific, having a baby that is very clingy and doesnt like being put down doesnt make for many times to make a great meal and have been relying on my slow cooker but making the same meals that i know over and over and its quite boring now.

The Slow Cooker is perfect for making meals this fall. I like that “Fix It and Forget It Slow Cooker Magic” has more than 500 Recipes – that could definitely make life easier. Also, the fact that it includes recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Desserts and Snacks are an added bonus.
