proji :: projection alarm clock

oregonscientificlogoI’ve gotten into the bad habit of taking my phone with me when I go to bed.  I use it as my clock and alarm clock–and I often miss out on some great sleep because I will “quickly” check Facebook, read an article or respond to a few e-mails when I should be sleeping.  This year, I’m going to try something new–leave my phone downstairs and go back to an alarm clock.  But instead of the traditional alarm clock, I’m upgrading to the Proji alarm block by Oregon Scientific.

IMG_7501This alarm clock is an upgrade from a typical alarm clock while still being compact.  The Proji displays the time as well as the day and indoor and outdoor temperature. And not only is this displayed on the screen, but with a quick push of a button, you can also project it onto your wall or ceiling (perfect for those of us who haven’t put contacts in yet).  The PROJI also receives the time and date from the atomic clock, so you don’t have to worry about changing the time for Daylight Savings Time–it updates itself automatically.

IMG_7500I love that this alarm clock displays the outdoor temperature as well as the current 6-hour forecast.  So when I’m lying in bed, taking advantage of those few minutes before I need to get moving, I can see the forecast and plan my wardrobe (and my kids’!) accordingly.  I can make a mental note to throw an umbrella in their backpacks or set out some rain boots–or plan an impromptu pool day (I may be dreaming now, but summer’s not too far off, right?)

The AC adapter and batteries make this efficient while at home but easy to take on the go as well.  And, let’s be honest, my kids LOVE projecting it onto the ceiling.  So while I might be using this in my room, it would be great for a kids room, too.

    I would love something like this, but it would drive my husband nuts.

      The great thing about Proji is that it only projects when you push a button. So it’s not shining all night long (that would drive me nuts, too!). I like my room to be very dark, so I love that this clock doesn’t have traditionally lit numbers–the room stays dark. It’s great for someone who likes a dark room!
