countdown to baby :: creative nesting

This morning I woke up and it hit me… I’m having a baby soon… Like, there are only two full months on the calendar between now and when this baby arrives! It’s a good thing I was still laying down when I came to this realization, because suddenly I was feeling a bit light headed…

Don’t get me wrong, this pregnancy has NOT flown by. I have felt every single minute of this maternity gig. Let’s just say that if this baby were our first, there may not be numbers 2-4… In short, it has been rough. Maybe it’s because I’ve been too busy getting sick or it could be because I’m chasing around three other little people all while growing another human, that I haven’t even taken a minute to think about seriously preparing for the arrival of our little princess.

Baby number four will be the last little one we bring home and that is such a bittersweet feeling. This tiny person will be the final piece of our already crazy family puzzle. Often times, when there are already multiple children in the home, it seems like babies are just expected to take their place and fall in line because life is already quite chaotic. I understand that…believe me…I really understand the chaos of multiple children. That’s why I want to be intentional about celebrating the little things with our baby girl…all of the milestones. Even though we have gone through them multiple times already with three other little ones.

To kick this off, and properly welcome our sweet girl into our family, I’ve put together a list of things I would like to do to prepare for meeting little miss. We have about ten weeks before baby comes, so we have ten activities/DIY projects we want to accomplish. This probably doesn’t look like the typical nesting to-do list, but that’s okay. I think it will be just the kind of preparation we need. I hope you’ll join us on the journey, and maybe find some creative ways to welcome your sweet babe home, as well!
