As the temperatures become less frigid I tend to bring my kids out more and more. As odd as it may seem, being as how I’m a lifelong midwesterner, I just can’t stand the cold. When Spring finally arrives I begin the process of cramming a year’s worth of outings and fun into our lives before the cold once again becomes too much.
With all these adventures to be had I’ve learned a few things about being prepared. First and foremost is the small cooler bag that I constantly take with us in the car. Full of various prepackaged snacks I’ve got the tastes for each of my kiddos as well as myself covered. Nothing will ruin the fun like a van full of HANGRY or having to stop every 10 minutes as a different person needs something to eat.
With my bag of snacks riding shotgun I don’t even have to look as I pick out something for myself, or conveniently hand the bag back to the kids to select their own snacks. Granola bars, pretzels, little bags of crackers, and fruit snacks are always on hand.
This week as I repacked the snack bag I added in some tasty Cherry Fruit ‘N Yogurt Snacks from Welch’s. While the yogurt covering means that these delicious treats can’t be left in the van during the warmer months they will be traveling with us on our first mini road trip of the season this week and if the kids don’t act fast there is a legitimate chance they won’t be eating any for themselves (I’m not even joking).
The name is pretty self-explanatory, a tasty fruit center covered with yogurt coating. Each individual Cherry flavored pouch is only 80 calories which means you can perfectly appease your sweet tooth without overindulging. And don’t worry, if Cherry isn’t your favorite there are a couple other fruit flavors to choose from.
So, what is your go-to snack for on-the-go?
