Last week I shared with some tips for taking a successful road trip with your kids. This was inspired by a short trip I had just taken with my kids that actually took us past some places we had just traveled to last year when my baby was only 3 months old. While traveling down these familiar roads I was reminded of how much a difference a few short months can make when taking kids on trips.
One of the major space savers for us this trip was the stroller I had packed in our van. With a standard stroller you can count on about half of your cargo space disappearing. Even a ‘smaller’ umbrella style stroller will need special consideration in your packing space to not only fit, but also be accessible as you travel. For this trip one of the LAST things I packed was the stroller, and quite frankly, it was the easiest thing I packed!
“What is this magical stroller?” you may ask. Let me tell you friends, it is the new gb Pockit. First of all the Pockit can be used from 6 months to 55 lbs. It has a 5 point harness that is height adjustable, and a nice little under seat basket for up to 11 lbs of essentials. The locking swivel front wheels make steering a breeze, and the foot break is easy to use. The seat fabric is removable and washable (because kids are messy) and there is a small attached sunshade.
If you haven’t heard of the Pockit before prepare to be amazed. The Pockit weighs in at only 9.5 lbs. To put this into perspective, my youngest child weighed more than at birth. (I know right?!?) When folded the Pockit is a compact 12″ long x 7″ wide x 14″ high, making it the world’s smallest folding stroller in the Guinness Book of World Records. Need a comparison? The Pockit fits under an airplane seat (no gate checking your stroller!) and is the size of a handbag.
The above dimensions are for the ultra-compact fold but when you’re just traveling around town or have the space there is also an everyday fold that takes a couple less steps. Either way, the process to collapse the stroller is amazingly easy and the Pockit will self-stand when when folded either way.
Here’s a little video if you want to see the Pockit in action…
For all the above mentioned reasons the Pockit has become my new go-to stroller for not only road trips and air travel, but also to keep in the car as my ‘just in case we need one’ stroller.
Where would you go with your little one and a Pockit?
