enjoy those fall nights with OxyLED lights

My husband made the comment to me over the weekend, I feel like Fall just snuck up on us! It’s getting dark so early! 

While that does make it a bit easier getting the kids to bed at a decent hour now that school is back in session, those early sunsets are one of my least favorite parts about fall! I want to maximize our time outside, enjoying the slightly cooler temps before winter sets in.

4 Favorite Fall Evening Activities

We’re pretty good about maximizing our daytime hours with fall activities. Saturdays & Sundays are usually reserved for soccer games, picking apples, raking leaves, bike rides or going for a drive to see the changing colors of the leaves. But evenings and nights? We have some extra fun planned for those!

 

1. Camping

Ok, not necessarily an evening only activity, but definitely lots of evening fun to be had when fall camping! That crisper, cooler weather and early sunsets make those evening bonfires just that much more enjoyable! And, of course, the kids love playing some fun games at the playground during those twilight hours!

2. Hay Rides

Enjoy the sites, sounds and smells of fall on a fun family evening hayride!

3. Get lost in a corn maze!

Sure, anyone can navigate a corn maze in the daytime hours. Really put your navigation skills to the test and try the corn maze in the evening hours!

4. Take a hike

Evening hikes in the fall are the best! Sweaters. Not sweating. Hearing the leaves crunch under your shoes. Geese honking overhead. It’s kind of the best.

And here’s my bonus tip for enjoying these fall evening activities with kids….bring a light!

Ok, sounds a bit backwards, I know! But kids inevitably will enjoy the evening hours (i.e. slightly dark) when they have the comfort of having a light with them. They may or may not use it but *knowing* they can will make all the difference!

Flashlights or headlamps will do, but my kids are pretty partial to little handheld lanterns. Honestly, I’m not even sure why. They just think lanterns are super fun.

One that we’ve been trying out these past few weeks is the OxyLED Portable LED Camping Lantern.
