Monster Trucks! Need I say more? My youngest son is so captivated by monster trucks. In fact, all he wanted for Christmas was for his dad to get a real monster truck. While that was an obvious impossibility, this weekend we are heading to the next best thing. Monster Jam!
This will be our first time checking out Monster Jam and I have been reading up so I know what to expect. First, because I know you all want to know, tickets start at just $15! It’s rare that I can take my kids to a big show for only $15. And, yes, there are still some tickets available. a;spLet’s chat showtimes. Here in Grand Rapids, the show runs from March 10-12 at Van Andel Arena at these times: Friday 7:00 p.m. Saturday 1:00 p.m. with a Pit Party ahead of time from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Saturday 7:00 p.m, Sunday 1:00 p.m with a Pit Party ahead of time from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m and the last show on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. I love that there are a few daytime shows so my kids don’t have to stay up way too late. We are all much happier when we can get to bed on time!
Monster Jam is celebrating their 25th year in 2017. I’m new to this whole monster truck thing, but I had no idea it has been around that long! I also had NO idea how cool some of these trucks are! My kids and I are most excited to see Scooby Doo! And it’s not just racing around a track here. This year is the Triple Threat Series™ which will test the versatility of the athletes as they go head-to-head in seven different competitions driving three different vehicles — Monster Jam trucks, Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs. How perfect is that? Since my 4-year-old is constantly asking me “Who would win, a monster truck or a…?” Now we might actually get a pretty close answer!! Check out the videos here and here of the trucks in action!
Not only do we get to see all of the action at Monster Jam, but there is also a Pit Party before both the Saturday March 11 1:00pm show and the Sunday, March 12 1:00pm show. The Pit Party is THE way to get up close and personal with the monster trucks. Definitely worth it for the photo ops alone! I can’t wait to meet some of the drivers and see the trucks up close. Check out this video of the pit party! Super excited to check this out!
Any other Monster Jam fans out there? Are there any great tips you can share with us all?
