I try to use Pinterest wisely. It’s so easy to lose hours of your life pinning things you just plain are never going to try, buy, or do. I clearly have some guilt about being a good steward of my time. This Fall, I have a few ideas I want to tackle. I like to find things that are fun for myself, but also some projects that the kids can be involved in as well. Here is a Pinterest round-up of Pinterest round-up’s! 🙂
FALL CRAFT
First up, I stumbled on this post, 22 easy fall crafts for kids to make. I have high goals of accomplishing just one of these 22 craft ideas…the yarn pumpkin garland. I think it’s in our skill set. But I share the larger link of 22 ideas if you are feeling more inspired then me.
FALL MANTEL
If our pumpkin garland turns out, I want to incorporate it into our mantel décor. This is starting to feel like the book, If You Give a Moose a Muffin. “If your yarn garland turns out, you will need a mantel to put it on…” I usually have a mantel scheme that morphs from Fall/Halloween pumpkins into Thanksgiving themes. Many of the same elements remain. I’m not sure if it’s lazy or practical. I’ve yet to decide which of these 20 Fall Mantels I will recreate. P.S. Landeelou put together these ideas and she has an amazing blog. I’m a regular reader…don’t miss her free fall iPhone wallpaper collection.
FALL WREATH
I love a pretty fall door, actually I want to have the most stunning front door on the block. It’s a unspoken competition I have with my neighbors. HERE is a link to 30 fall wreaths that celebrate autumn’s splendor. I’m really loving the hydrangea wreath with leaves and berries. Don’t forget you can change out the bow on this wreath tutorial I shared earlier this year. I update mine for every season, simply by changing the bow. I love a wreath that is adaptable for every season.
PUMPKINS
Have you ever considered starting a board for pumpkin ideas? We’ve done some super fun pumpkins through the years. Olaf was our best work. It won’t be long and we will find ourselves at the pumpkin patch. If you plan ahead, you might just know what shape or size pumpkin you are looking for.
The DIY pumpkin ideas and tutorials in THIS post are adorable. Inspiration for actual pumpkins, but also some tutorials to make pumpkin jars, mantel décor, and fabric pumpkins.
Once the heat breaks, enjoy your cardigan, pumpkin spice lattes, soup recipes, colorful trees, and most importantly…your family.
Happy FALL Ya’ll
You knew it was coming, right? How could this post not include such a salutation?
