If you’re wondering what a Rube Goldberg Machine is here is my simplified answer… it’s a complex machine that performs a simple task. For example, the adorable upcycled Cheerios box in the above picture? It is a Rube Goldberg-inspired cereal machine because it has the simple job of delivering cereal to the cereal bowl for breakfast (or to deliver the bag of Cheerios that went on our day of errands as a snack). A quick search on Rube Goldberg machines will teach you much more than I could and I also suggest checking out some of the cool videos people have shared online of their own Rube Goldberg machine creations. My kids LOVE watching all the creativity!

Each cereal contains a different project ranging from a Cereal Twist with Lucky Charms to a Wheel & Axle Machine in the Cheerios box.
