Ok, now, mine. It’s SO hard to choose, to be quite honest with you. I remember growing up when my Mom would come home with a new Disney VHS and we would be SOOOO excited. One of the favorites for me has always been Beauty and the Beast. I have countless memories that include my family and I watching this great movie! When I heard that the 25th Anniversary Edition was coming out, two things went through my mind….
- How am I that dang old to REMEMBER this coming out originally, 25 years ago?
- How COOL will it be that there is something for my girls to watch that celebrates and brings the classic, Beauty and the Beast, to life in a more beautiful way, with more to learn about in this great DVD edition.
Disney’s epic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast returns to Blu-ray with the release of Beauty and the Beast The 25thAnniversary Edition, the original animated classic. The all-star voice cast features Robby Benson as Beast and Paige O’Hara as Belle, along with the castle’s enchanted staff including Jerry Orbach as Lumiere, David Ogden Stiers as Cogsworth, Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts, and they’re all just as magical as you remember them!
Twenty-five years ago, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” broke ground as the first animated feature film to receive an Academy Award® nomination for best picture, and now this tale as old as time joins the Walt Disney Signature Collection on Sept. 6 on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere, and on Sept. 20 on Blu-ray™ and DVD.
The beloved animated classic has truly stood the test of time and now a whole new generation of viewers are invited to be our guest and fall in love with this enchanting tale, its captivating characters and unforgettable, award-winning music score and original song, “Beauty and the Beast.”
The Walt Disney Signature Collection edition features four versions of “Beauty and the Beast.” The Blu-ray release will include the original theatrical film; an extended version with the “Human Again” song sequence and a never-before-released on home entertainment sing-along version. The original work-in-progress version will be available digitally and on Disney Movies Anywhere.
There are SO many Bonus Features as well that are included in the special edition dvd set. From Recording Sessions, to 25 Fun Facts about Beauty and the Beast, you could easily spend over an hour exploring and learning more! My oldest LOVES to browse the Bonus features included on DVD’s!
So, back to my first question. What is your FAVORITE Disney movie? Is Beauty and the Beast near that top for you, like it is for me too? Will you be picking up this classic…or have you already???
