One of the biggest blessings that has come to me though this blog is the ability to spread the word. Most times it’s about fabulous items, products, fun times, media events, and the such. But every now and then, we have information about a cause. What a phenomenal opportunity to be able to quickly spread the word with wonderful readers, such as you all.
Today, that’s what I have for you. I have a friend in need. Desperate need for her daughter. I met Mike and Shelly through my good friend, Gretchen. Shelly was their babysitter for many years and we had the opportunity to get to know her on our many date nights. Then, I would randomly see her out in public, and she always has a smile on her face. Whether we were sweating it out at the gym or running in to her and her husband at the mall. They are wonderful, wonderful people.
Well, they are going through something right now and they NEED prayers. That’s why I’m writing today. I need you if you are prayerful. They have a gorgeous 3-week old baby girl going through a VERY tough time. I want to encourage you to think on, or pray for, or send positive vibes, whatever floats your boat and makes you happy. That is what makes the world go round – wonderful people pulling together to achieve greatness.

Today, they need their baby girl to move. They need her to do more, even if it’s just a little, but they need more. I can’t help but BELIEVE this is a miracle in the making. It’s happening and to God be the glory.
I want to share their most recent Care Pages update below. If you have followed us on Facebook, you will have seen me sharing this.
So, now is the time. Please, I beg of you. Think of this family – they are some of the most amazing people. Honestly. THANK YOU!!
Through the night last night, Caitlin made progress. It wasn’t much. But it was progress. Late last night we spoke to the neurologist and he said that the EEG activity was still showing signs of seizures and the normal brain activity that they have been looking for was still not there. This was not exactly what we wanted to hear before we laid our head down on our pillows.
This morning, we were updated that her pupils had become less dilated than before and that her eyes were reacting to light. They are not “tracking” the light, but they are reacting. Also, when exposed to pain such as a pinch in her foot, she will wiggle it slightly. This is a start. Tests have shown that there are still meds in her system. Doctors are honest that they don’t think that the current level of meds should sedate her so deeply and that they still want her to show more signs of waking and normal brain activity. We are convinced that she’s just a “deep sleeper” like her dad.
There is also good news that her heart still beats on it’s own, and her measurements (blood pressure, glucose levels, temp, urine output, etc) are all at normal levels. This means that there is likely little damage to the brain stem. Higher functions of the brain, ones that control sleep, memory, emotion, muscle control, and other things are the ones that have a higher risk of permanent damage. This is something we, really, look forward to. Our DEEPEST desire is to take her home. We don’t care how, we don’t care when, we don’t care what things will be different about her. We just want her. Period.
TAKE AWAY: Caitlin is still in critical condition. As long as she is here, she will be considered that. Today we were greeted by ‘better’ news than what we slept with last night. By no means was it the ‘best case’ scenario, but it’s not the worst either.
PRAY FOR: The best case scenario for today is for her to wake up, start moving, and have NO seizures. Even if seizures are happening, they will try and treat her without having to go into the coma again. Pray that she awakes from her slumber. That she opens those little eyes to see our faces.
Pray also for us. Our strength is built on a foundation of faith. We are trying so hard to trust in a plan that is not influenced by our wants and needs. We know that God has a plan for our lives and Caitlin’s, but that doesn’t make any of the days that we spend here easier to live. It is a constant struggle. It seems that bad news comes more frequently than good news. This world of sin really, really bites,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for lifting us up through prayer. WE FEEL THE PRAYERS WORKING. In the past I had been a sceptic about the power of prayer. Never again. Never EVER again. We have felt strength where there was seemingly none. We felt the Lords presence in our darkest night yet. We are humbled day after day hearing about the number of people that are praying for us AROUND THE WORLD. People that we have never met are lifting us up in prayer and pleading with God on our behalf. We need this to continue. Be bold with us and ask the Lord to deliver Caitlin into our hands again. We BELIEVE in a God who is not bound by statistics. With every bit of bad news, we take it with a grain of salt, knowing that our Lord sets the stage to defy statistics.
VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Look at the nations and watch– and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Habakuk 1:5

March 5, 2015 at 3:27 amI just said a prayer for this beautiful baby girl and will continue to do so. The power of prayer is amazing, and I’ve seen two miracles recently happen by what I believe was by the hand of God and by so many prayers going up. My mother has cancer and was in the hospital with the prognosis that she would die within days. Now she’s in remission and is a walking miracle. Just yesterday a little baby that I know was brought home from the children’s hospital after a month of being in there. He was diagnosed with a disease and still has it but the doctors are amazed because he has the “best case scenario” for that kind of disease.
I guess what I’m saying is……..prayer works! And, as I said, I’ll continue to pray for this beautiful child of God’s.
