I can’t believe I’m writing this. It’s back-to-school time…and my girls are in the thick of thinking about it! Whether it’s the cashier at checkout from whatever store we are in to the commercials on TV to the comments from family members, we can’t help but think about it. I love the excitement surrounding this time of year, but I can’t STAND the fact that some of my little ladies will be leaving me for a good portion of the day. So, instead of dwelling on what I don’t like, we talk about and have fun with the things that ‘going back to school’ brings. One of those being, BACK-TO-SCHOOL SHOPPING!!
My little ladies love to go shopping, my oldest being the biggest fan. I’ve just noticed this year how much she really enjoys it. I think she has really come in to herself in the last year and her opinions on her personal style are shining through. Up until this point I was able to purchase just about anything and she would be on board with the color and style. It’s moving in the direction of her picking out her own clothes. And for that, I’m not too happy. There goes the ease of shopping lol!
All that being said though, we recently took a trip to Kmart. We have one right around the corner from our house, it’s super convenient! My 6-year-old was at a friend’s house, so we ventured to the store without her. My soon-to-be 4th grader and soon-to-be preschooler each got to pick out an outfit from Kmart that will be good for ‘fall in Michigan’ as well as back to school.
My 4-year-old is a hoot in the store. She basically likes anything colorful…and on a hanger. She’s easy to please. I love the fact that Kmart has clothing ‘sets.β There were a handful in her size and she picked the one that has a fun little tutu on it. Naturally. Tutus and little girls oftentimes go together, don’t they?
I wanted to get a pair of shoes that would be good for school too. She found these adorable, colorful, sequin-filled shoes from Joe Boxer that were right up her alley. We tried a couple on to confirm correct sizing and we were out of there. She was easy peasy! Now, the 9-year-old…different story lol!
Ok, well I have shared enough for this blog post. I’ll share with you my oldest’s look in another post next week. Nothing like creating the pull, right? π
What do you think? Are you an avid Kmart shopper? What do you look for in back-to-school fashions?Β Talk to me!

August 31, 2015 at 2:27 pmSeriously, she is so darn cute. Little fashionista right there. And I have to say we love the clothes at Kmart. Some don’t last long but long enough for the kids to grow out of. We have gotten some really cute stuff there in the past years for my kids. Love the boys jeans…they are very trendy and stylish. Macy would love Miss P’s outfit for sure.

August 31, 2015 at 2:15 pmMy kids like KMart too but at our store I wish they did have more selections to choose from. They will usually find something they like but the selection is somewhat limited in store.
