I’m going to be honest here. I don’t know much about the Skylanders. I know they are super cool and that all the kids love them. I also know that since we got the Mega Bloks Skylanders Swap Force™ Boss Tank Showdown, my son has played with little else. He is not yet four, so when we first got the set, it was his big sister that helped put it together as he watched with bated breath. As soon as he could get his hands on the two Skylander figures that came with it, Wash Buckler and Glumshanks (their names make me giggle), he was the happiest kid on the block. Until he realized that his sister was building him a tank complete with working cannon. And then he was the happiest kid in town.
This set is just super cool. The tank is awesome, and the fact that it has a cannon that actually shoots makes it even cooler. Top it off with a wall that actually breaks apart when the cannon shoots it and this set jumps right off the coolness meter. The funny part about this building set is that my daughter absolutely loved putting it together and did it in under an hour (she is a whiz when it comes to putting things together). And even though she has plenty of girl-themed building blocks, she loves playing with her brother as he shoots the wall with the cannon again and again (and again). I love watching them play together but since they are a few years apart, they usually have a hard time finding common ground. This set has helped them come together and play “nicely” and actually both have fun, which is saying a lot. Honestly, you just can’t lose with this toy. Bump it to the top of your kid’s Christmas list. They will thank you later (Or maybe they won’t. Parenting is a thankless job, after all).
