I don’t know about you, but we have officially reached the part of the summer in which my kids have completely and utterly run out of things to do. They are sick of being home and ask me every day how many days are left until school starts. Even on the sunniest of days, they get bored of playing hide and seek and jumping on the trampoline and running in circles around our house. So we decided to make some play dough.
This recipe is so easy and the kids love playing with it because they helped make it! Now one thing I will say is that you kind of have to get your hands dirty to mix the food coloring in and it doesn’t blend as well as it would if you baked it. The other thing that we noticed was that the salt gives the play dough a kind of grainy feel but it also made it look a little bit sparkly which my daughter loved. But this was a fun little craft that we enjoyed doing together!
Ingredients ::
1 cup salt
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons oil
A few drops of food coloring
Directions ::
Mix all ingredients very well (you will probably have to use your hands and smush it all together to blend it all the way). Store in plastic bag or covered jar.

August 23, 2014 at 1:44 pmI used to make this when my son was little. We would have the best times making things! I always cooked mine, never realized there was a no cook version, like it better!! 🙂
