a simple diy :: acrylic resin pendant

Last week I shared how I have been wanting to experiment with acrylic resin and received the Aloha Kit and E-Course Bundle from Counter Culture DIY.  Since then I have been trying to decide what to do with my leftover resin.  I decided I would make pendants out of the leftover resin since it doesn’t take much at all to create beautiful, unique pendants.

The only other thing you will need is a 60Pieces 3 Styles Pendant Trays 30pcs Round & Square & Oval and 30pcs Bright Glass Cabochon Dome Tiles for Crafting DIY Jewelry Gift Making that I purchased through Amazon.

Love all the effects I’ve gotten with these pendants!  I posted one last week after I finished my wood blocks and have had several people ask if I would sell them as well.  The effects you get from resin are remarkable.  Two of the main points addressed in the E-Course Resin Basics with Ann Upton were to measure out parts A and B of resin equally, a dab of pigment goes a long way, and the consistency of the resin is like honey.  To be sure that your resin cures you must keep your temperature at 75 degrees for it to form the glass like appearance.

So literally a dab of paint and once I get the right mixture of pigment I will smear it around with the wooden popsicle stick to get the effect I want with colors.  Once your resin begins to set you can place your Glass Cabochon Dome Tiles on top to secure them in place to finish drying.

Since I have had so many people show interest in these pendants I have made a bulk of Aloha Pendants to sell.  I can honestly say that you need to be willing to work when you are working with resin.  These sweet pendants took hours to create.
