I recently needed to bring a drink to a party and really wanted to enjoy all of the great fall flavors. So I came up with a simple apple cider sangria recipe. I didn’t want to run to the store so I tweaked some other recipes to come up with one using ingredients I had on hand.
Ingredients: 2 cups apple cider, 1 bottle sparkling white wine, several types of apples, chopped or sliced (I like matchstick slices), 2 bottles ginger beer or ginger ale, a few cinnamon sticks (optional). Mix all ingredients except ginger beer into a large container. I love using a clear container because the finished product is so pretty. Let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours so the flavors can meld.
When serving, fill a glass about half full with sangria and top off with ginger beer to taste. Like most sangria, you can alter the recipe to your liking. Feel free to soak the apples in caramel vodka or bourbon to add a little oomph or you can omit the wine altogether for a alcohol-free version.
